November 1-5, 2019 BARCELONA, SPAIN

Friday November 1st, 2019 we arrived from our non stop flight from Boston (BOS) to Barcelona (BCN) . The carrier was Iberia operated by Level Airlines (a new company) and the 7hr flight was decent enough. We pre-booked a city tour by private car with a company called Barcelona Day Tours. This was our splurge tour, and looking back it was the best decision we could have made. It afforded us views of the city we ended up not having time to do at all. Our driver picked us up from the airport after we made it through customs and baggage claim. The process wasn’t long at all, less than an hour I think. Our driver’s name was Christian, He, interestingly enough was of German descent, having fell in love with Spain more than 20 yrs ago. This tour also had a planned stop at Parc Guell (see photos of that and Sagrada Familia by clicking here) and a couple other places where we could get out and enjoy. Mainly this tour was a good, through, overview of the city.

On Saturday we had booked a walking Spanish Civil War Tour. It was EXCELLENT. We had no idea about what was happening in Spain at this time. Really fascinating way to spend the morning in Barcelona. The tour was given by Catherine Howley a young lady from Ireland.

On Sunday we booked a photo shoot with a very nice young man named Michael SImpson, from the UK (See a trend yet?)

On Monday we had the pleasure of joining other cruise mates and attending a Flamenco show which was extraordinary.

Tuesday we embarked on our first transatlantic cruise on board Celebrity Reflection! What a trip.
